How do we prepare for the future? We employ the scientific process! The “science of” is really a transformation for any inquiry that involves a research practice. The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit public policy organization based in Washington, DC. The mission is to “conduct in-depth research that leads to new ideas for solving problems facing society at the local, national and global level.”

Question for Figure 2: What trend is depicted by this graph? What is the relationship between time and job digitalization (direct/indirect, positive/negative)?

Question for Figure 9: Why does digitalization contribute to a u-shaped job creation? What is u-shaped job creation?
Question for Figure 12: ?!? What is that giant dot just west of us? There are two dots in Colorado. I think those are on Denver and Boulder. Now look west- what is causing that giant dot? I asked my family. They made the intelligent guess of a solar farm… but really? That’s one of only six giant dots on the map. What are dot sizes representing? What about the colors?
